Texas Twist: Bows

So as part of my blog, I want to add a "Texas Twist" to one of my posts every week.  It's my way of taking something I wore or saw while I lived in Texas and comparing it to that of how I "twist" it to fit life in New York City.

In most southern states where sororities and football are a big deal, i.e Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida, there are certain trends that the sorority girls wear.  Lots of leggings with Long Frat T-shirts, Uggs with Shorts, Sperry's and Bows. Now some of the bows are normal sizes but some can get a little crazy in size, like you might mistake it for a football on the back of her head. Here's a regular bow you might find on Sorority Row:

So for my "Texas Twist", I found a bow at H&M that was really meant to be worn on a jacket or a beret, and I put it in my hair to give my outfit a splash. It ended up looking like this:

I found some other ways that bows have been used, both with celebrities and in commercial and editorial ways, that I thought ya'll might want to try with your own personal style!
