Transition Trends

While we are still experiencing some chilly days here in New York, some people are starting to phase into their spring and summer wardrobes.  I am a fan of making a smooth transition between the seasons by switching out a component or two of my winter wardrobe with a spring piece.  As the season goes along, I like to work in more spring pieces so that when it's time for summer, you don't feel like you went from a chunky sweater to a slinky, tank top.

So I am a huge fan of tights/pantyhose (whatever you want to call them), they are basically the sheer version of leggings. I like tights because they are lighter weight and they add a different overall texture to your outfit. You can usually find tights in a trendy or funky pattern to funk-ify your outfit, and it's a piece that you don't have to spend a lot on. My new favorite trend currently is the style of taking your tights and pairing them with cut-off jeans, crazy-genius right?! It's the perfect way to transition shorts into your wardrobe and, if, your legs are still a little on the clorox-bleach looking side, it's a good way to cover it up until you get that perfect summer glow! This look can be done both casual and dressy, and can be used with a variety of different pieces.  Here are some of my favorite looks:
