What's The Big Deal?!

So in the fashion world, there has recently been quite a bit of controversy with J.Crew's latest ad.  The ad is of the company's President, Jenna Lyons with her son, who looks to be about 5 maybe 6.  There's nothing really that strange about that, right? This is the part that everyone seems to be freaking out about: he is wearing PINK nail polish! Oh my gosh let's call in the armed forces now. Like, really? The kid is wearing nail polish...that's it. He's not 5 and getting his first tattoo or motorcycle, I mean come on! I even used to help paint the boys nails for swim meets and some of them were even in high school! And if you really think about it, he's more than likely just wearing it for the sake of the ad! But even if he isn't, why does it really matter? Does it automatically mean that she is condemning him to have a personality that has feminine tendencies? Personally, I think it's a bit ridiculous that people think this is such a big deal. But it gives me something to write about so I can't complain too much!
